IDS Message Board Rules and Regulations
Thank you for using the IDS Message Board!
The Message Board is intended for use by IDS members and potential members to discuss matters relating to membership, education, chapters, ideas and questions pertaining to residential interior design and the Interior Design Society. Any other messages deemed inappropriate will be removed from the board immediately and the proper action will be taken by the Board Moderator and/or the IDS National Board.
Rules and Regulations
By participating in these message boards, you agree to follow the rules and regulations listed below:
1 – Respect the board, the moderators, the posters, and the organization.
2 - Do not post any material that is libelous, defamatory, obscene, abusive, pornographic, threatening, hateful, profane, or vulgar.
3 - Do not spam the message board. Advertising other boards, services, products, and the like is not permitted.
4 - Job postings in the residential interior design field are allowed, as long as the job is legitimate and benefits members of the organization. If the posting is deemed illegitimate or inappropriate it will be removed and the user will be blocked from using the message boards.
5 – Chain letters, messages impersonating another person, messages containing personal information (social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, etc) are not permitted. Personal information such as an email address is only permitted with the explicit approval of the person whose information is being displayed.
6 – Before posting a message, please be sure you are in the appropriate category. Look over the entire message board for a similar thread/topic before making a post.
7 – Please do not post any messages that are off-topic. This board is intended for use by IDS members and potential members. Discussions that are not related to IDS topics such as membership, education, chapters, residential interior design, and all topics within the residential interior design field will be deleted.
**Please note that this is a message board based in the United States and is an English-only message board. Messages posted in other languages will be removed.
Terms of Service and Agreement
Users who are in violation of the rules and regulations listed above may be removed from the IDS message boards with or without warning. Should users use offensive, threatening or libelous language, IDS may take legal action. Spam will not be tolerated.
Users are solely responsible for anything contained in their messages. Users may be held legally liable for the contents of their messages including any violations of copyright (text and images).
At its discretion, the Interior Design Society, reserves the right to limit or prevent access from the message board either in part or in entirety to any user it has determined has violated any guideline. IDS also reserves the right to limit access to the message boards to any user, at any time, for any reason.
IDS message board users may not reproduce or transmit any content to other message boards. By submitting content to the message board you grant permission to IDS to reuse your messages either on the website, published works, or promotional material.
IDS reserves the right to deny access to the message board to any user who is in violation of the rules and regulations and for any other reason.
IDS reserves the right to amend or change these guidelines at any time without any notice.
This site is owned and operated by the Interior Design Society and is protected by trademark and copyright laws. You may not modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute any materials, code, and software. You may download material from this site only for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you maintain all copyright and trademark notices.
This agreement is effective until terminated by the Interior Design Society, at any time without notice. In the event of termination, you are no longer authorized to access the message boards.
Liability – Under no circumstances, including but limited to negligence, shall IDS be liable for any material posted on the message board. The user acknowledges that he/she are liable for all material the user posts on the message boards.
Board Maintenance and Post Removal
If your post has been removed from the board, please refrain from posting messages on the board asking why your post was removed. If you need information as to why a thread or post was removed, please contact the board’s moderator.
After a suitable period of time has passed, old messages will be removed from the message board.
The board moderator has the right to remove any messages deemed offensive or inappropriate. If you find a message that you feel is inappropriate, please contact the board moderator to report the problem. Reporting a problem post is done in confidence and only the board moderator will know a submission was made. The board moderator will review that post and determine if it needs to be removed.
Violations on the Message Board
Please contact the board moderator, if you find a message that you feel is inappropriate. All reports of problem posts will be reviewed and removed at the discretion of the board moderator.
Please do not post messages telling other users that they have violated board guidelines or to instruct other users on the guidelines. These are the functions of the board moderator.
If a user violates the rules and regulations, the user will receive a message from the board moderator. Depending on the severity of the violation, the user will be either be issued a warning or denied access to the message board.
