Group IMPACT Awards

1st place: IDS Chicago Chapter

The Chicago Chapter chose Little Angels, a loving residence for children and young adults with severe disabilities, because this facility provides the most important aspects that make a home – love, care and support. Everyone here deserves a pick-me-up and the makeover impacted the kids, their families and the staff.

Industry Partner and National Sponsor Donations:
  • Sherwin-Williams donated all paint and paint supplies
2nd place: IDS Naples Chapter

The IDS Naples Chapter couldn’t believe that most of the Habitat homeowners could not envision themselves living in a home, or that they were even worthy of homeownership. We heard stories of how the homeowners would hang photos high up on the wall because they didn’t want anything to happen to their most valuable possessions. We knew we had to help by giving them a vision so that is when we decided to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Collier County. Since choosing furniture from the ReStore, we raised awareness of Habitat for Humanity’s needs and have helped build confidence in their current and future homeowners.

Industry Partner and National Sponsor Donations:
  • J.A. Willy Gallery  donated 60”x40” artwork in the great room
Other Donations:
  • Bruce Cohen, Monark Premium Appliance Company donated appliances for the kitchen
  • All other contributions were from our designers and the ReStore
3rd place: IDS Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter

Over 90% of students in Dallas Independent School District schools are on free or reduced lunch plans, and many only eat while they are at school. The IDS Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter wanted to make a positive impact in their lives by partnering with Feeding Children Everywhere who had an established model to accomplish this.

  • New Life Hardwoods’ owner, Pat Hicks donated venue space
  • TextOn donated sponsorship banner (8’ x 8’ vinyl banner with full color logos printed top to bottom)
  • Local high school cheerleading squad volunteered to attend the Full Bellies Open Minds event to cheer on chapter members and other volunteers. The squad brought markets and wrote inspirational messages on all of the boxes containing meals that were assembled during the event.
